It’s just an update on some things I’ve noticed about this WAR program; how it's unique, and how it’s helping people. I would love your feedback of how it has helped you, and how you have seen it help others. You don’t have to blog about it if you don’t want to, just come talk to me. This program is headed in an incredible direction, thank you all for being apart of it.Hawk-The WAR Program
The WAR program is unique in that its action based learning, where participants actually learn a new lifestyle through fitness, nutrition, and progressive concepts. WAR is an elite program based on sound, effective principles. WAR is not affiliated with AA or the 12 step program. WAR’s focus is on the future, not the past. In WAR we don’t go around the room sharing our feelings on drug & alcohol stories. We feel like doing so only makes us think about using drugs & alcohol; we feel like it doesn’t let us move forward. In WAR we talk about character attributes, and progressive principles and concepts that are going to help us grow as human beings. WAR’s focus is on improving the character of it’s participants by showing them a new lifestyle – The WAR Lifestyle. WAR participants come to find that they can, through WAR, actually fill that void in their life that drugs and alcohol used to fill. They can replace a bad addiction, with a healthy addiction, and get high through fitness, nutrition, and self improvement methods; they can create a new healthy lifestyle for themselves; a lifestyle full of confidence and self understanding. The WAR Concept is to get the endorphins going through the GYM aspect of the program; where participants are apart of an elite strength & conditioning program. Following the GYM, participants go straight into the classroom while their endorphins are in full force from the Gym experience. What this does is truly remarkable. We’ve found that participants are more apt to learn and participate due to the natural high the workout provided them with. They retain more information; their brain is now prepared to learn - it’s on track. The WAR philosophy is that: “the brain works best after exercise”. The classroom is where we exercise our mind, and put into action the concepts that are discussed. WAR is a program of DOING, not just talking. We here at WAR are under the understanding that the only way people beat addiction is by learning a new lifestyle. If a new lifestyle doesn’t take form in the addicted person’s life, then no real change will take place. The classroom is where we work on improving ourselves. The classroom is where the brain strength training takes place. The program started in September of 2010 and we’ve watched some incredible things take form. We’ve watched participants just out of rehab use this WAR program as an after care program to help them stay on track and not relapse, and it works. We’ve had participants tell us that this program has helped them not relapse better than anything else they’ve tried. The thing that is unique about this program is that we are promoting a lifelong program/lifestyle that doesn’t end after the 12 week program. Once participants graduate from the 12 week program (Red & Black Session), they will move into another program called WAR Strength and conditioning, where they will continue to live, and work on the WAR lifestyle. The entirety of the WAR program is all about progress. We want our participants to always be moving forward in living this WAR lifestyle to the fullest, therefore we are promoting a “lifelong program/lifestyle”.This WAR program has also helped the functioning Alcoholic or addict who is tired of living an unhealthy life. This WAR program has worked wonders for this type of person. The WAR program has helped this type of person to slow down; and provides them with a new lifestyle to help them stay on track. Now instead of drinking five nights a week, they have cut back to one or two nights a week, which has improved their career and family life immensely. This WAR program has also helped the person that struggles with depression or anxiety. Depression and addiction feed each other. This WAR program has helped this type of person fight their own personal WAR against stress, anxiety, and depression. This WAR program is creating a healthier community. We are creating a group of individuals that are both strong in mind and body; and are able to handle all that life throws at them through a clear lens. This WAR program provides people with the opportunity to experience a new healthy life. The participants start seeing changes in their body and the way they feel, which then leads to confidence. They start believing in themselves, and feeling better about life in general. Now they are conscious about what harmful substances they put into their body because they don’t want to ruin the incredible, natural peace and happiness they have finally found. They now see life from a different angle, a positive angle. They have come to realize that drugs and alcohol are only temporary happiness, but the WAR lifestyle is lasting happiness.
