Jogging: Escaping the Head Prison

  1. Have The Courage to Go Jog!

We might be wrestling with a craving all day long, but if we will walk outside the front door of our house to do a jog, with headphones on and our playlist set, then in just 15 minutes our mind frame will be switched to a positive one. Why would this work?

  2. Switch up the locations and the terrain.

Start jogging on the street, and then cut through some park grass, and then get back on the street that leads into the hills of a highland neighborhood. Be creative so that you can capture different forms of scenery. Go from flat ground, to hills, then back to flat ground—and trails. Be Creative!

  3. Look at these jogging experiences as a journey.

Some could take up to 90 minutes, where you ran a little, walked a little, and then ran some more—to then finish hiking up rugged terrain that leads to a park, where you then read and meditate for a half hour. This is an example, but hopefully you get the point.

  4. A New Environment

These jogging experiences are a way to remove you from a negative environment, and put you in positive one. Now instead of being inside watching Netflix feeling sorry for yourself, you are now out accomplishing something.

  5. Listen to music, and then switch to audiobooks.

Send out healthy text messages, take pictures, and even call people back. Look for scenery, work on gratitude, and let these jogging experiences lead you to a better mindset.

  6. It Works 100% of the time

To beat a craving, these jogging experiences work one hundred percent of the time. The only way they don’t work is if you don’t have the courage to go make one happen. Go make it happen!
