Eating out is a convenience, but eating at home means saving money and being healthier.
When we cook our own food at home the digestive process actually starts when we are cooking and smelling the food that we are preparing.
We can control our ingredients at home—which means our foods won’t be the processed foods sold in restaurants. Restaurant food also tends to be high in sodium, fat, and added sugars.
At home we can add more fresh fruits and vegetables. We have more control at home—and the cooking can become a spiritual practice that we enjoy.
Its better for the family to be eating a healthy meal at home together as apposed to always being in the chaotic rush of fast food. At home, we can spend time together with our family around the dinner table enjoying the healthy food that we made.
Eating homemade food that you prepare yourself helps you learn good nutrition, which then you can teach to your family so that they too can be healthy. Addiction is a family disease, which means we must get the family healthy as well.
Eating at home also gives you an opportunity to spend time at home with your family around the dinner table, sharing good conversations, and enjoying healthy food that was prepared with love for the family that you love. Therefore, eating at home is a good spiritual practice.
