Try Using Christ
Try Using Christ

Part 1 of 3
Now I realize that there are all kinds of ways for people to get in touch with their higher power and spiritual self. And that some people’s higher power may be different than others, since everyone’s way of finding spirituality and peace in their lives is different; and no one persons way should be looked upon as being better than the other, for that would be judgmental and widely against everything that being a spiritual person is all about.
The fact of the matter is -is that whichever way a person chooses to work on their spiritual self is the right way, since taking the actual time to work on spirituality is half the battle, and is even a progressive pursuit no matter the way. Some may go to a park, read the newspaper, and get lost in thought for an hour. Others may use nature, where they get lost in meditative thought while in nature, and this works for them. Others may find spirituality through their children, and through the pure love that radiates through children, since children are so innocent, and have not yet been tainted by the things of this world. Whatever way a person may choose to work on their spirituality is perfect. And whoever their higher power might be is perfect. But where I'm going with this is nothing more than a recommendation for you to consider if you are one who is struggling with your addiction and are in a desperate search of some other way, since your current way may not be working; and keep in mind, I'm not speaking of religion. But have you ever tried using Christ to help you see around your addiction?Everyone is in search of a way to feel better, and even happier in this life, and it is no different for the person that struggles with addiction. The interesting thing about getting into Christ’s way is that we have the opportunity to study about Him through the scriptures, history, and also the many books that people have written about Him concerning His ministry. Through this study, one can come to a true understanding of to whom the man known as Jesus Christ was; and if He is diligently sought after-a further understanding will unfold concerning the wonderful way of life that He still promotes to this day, which is a way of life that can become as a priceless gift that will be added unto those who are diligently striving to walk His path. James E. Talmage, in his book Jesus The Christ, had this to say concerning the validity of Jesus Christ and his ministry.“It is a matter of history that, at or near the beginning of what has since come to be known as the Christian era, the Man Jesus, surnamed the Christ, was born in Bethlehem of Judea. The principal data as to His birth, life, and death are so well attested as to be reasonably indisputable; they are facts of record, and are accepted as essentially authentic by the civilized world at large. True, there are diversities of deduction based on alleged discrepancies in the records of the past as to circumstantial details; but such differences are of strictly minor importance, for none of them nor all taken together cast a shadow of rational doubt upon the historicity of the earthly existence of the Man known in literature as Jesus of Nazareth.”We live in a world that wants to talk of a higher power often; but what does that higher power look like? And how do you study about that higher power if there are no written words or records describing that higher powers character attributes? That's the beauty of using Christ, and looking into what He may have to offer you because we do have an idea of what he looks like, and we know what his character was like, for it was written; therefore we can study about him, and even pray about him, believing and having faith that He will save us from our addictions.I have noticed, in my own life, that as I search out, and even study about Christ on a daily basis -that I feel different. Not different in the sense that a lightning bolt came down and struck this dramatic change to occur in my life. But different in the sense of how I see the world in terms of being slow and reverent. Since I've gotten into Christ’s way I have found that as I get better at understanding His ways, and also better at living the way of life that He promotes, that a warm comforting feeling often burns within in my heart, which then makes me feel safe from my addiction. This warm comforting feeling in my life, I believe, is Christ’s Invisible Hand, which seems to be tutoring me on how to become more like Him.The point I'm trying to make with this is that through Christ one can come to obtain the constant companionship of Christ’s Invisible Hand in their lives. As we seek Him out on a daily basis, He will seek us out on a daily basis, where He will provide answers and comfort to we who are in search of answers and comfort. Once a person gets a glimpse of Christ's warmth within their soul; and also that comfort and confidence that His Invisible Hand can only provide, they then become motivated to have that comforting feeling remain in their life.If we are clear, diligent in our study of Christ, obedient, and striving to live a righteous life, we then have the opportunity at having His spirit with us at all times, then making us more charitable, and even replacing our once so poor worldly highs, with a now - healthy, and even spiritual high through Christ. Now when the thought enters into our mind to take our self out of reality, we can now see around our addiction because we know that if we do give into that quick worldly escape, then His Invisible Hand will be driven from within us, then leaving us to feel empty, scared, and far from safe. So it is only now, because of this new found awareness through Christ, we have become highly motivated to stay clear, and even more so than ever before since we don't want Christ’s Invisible Hand to escape us-in that we have come to the realization that when we are in tune with Him, we feel safe, confident, and at peace.
