The Scene

The Scene

The nightlife scene; the party scene; the bar scene; the club scene; the eat drink and be merry scene; the monday night football scene; the sunday football scene; the New Years scene; the Halloween scene; the weekend scene; the birthday party scene; the boating scene; the summer scene; the barbecue scene; the vacation scene; the fight night scene; and on and on this list could go - point being is that there are a lot of scenes for us to deal with; and a lot of temptation associated with each one of these scenes.

Now don't get this message twisted because there are a lot of people out there who have no problem managing each and every one of these scenes at a functioning level; however, I would say that the vast majority of people who get caught up in multiple scenes end up struggling in some way, shape, or form.  Many start with a simple DUI, and then their personal life scene seems to unravel.Lets face it "the scene" as we call it, is in fact fun and enjoyable for a time.  Everyone wants to cut loose and have a few drinks right? Everyone wants to have some laughs; smoke a few darts - maybe some weed, then some more laughs, more alcohol, more darts, more, more, more, more; until we wake up on sunday morning feeling like we got run over by a train - but hey, it's sunday and that means the football scene right?  First game is at eleven - so lets start drinking. Now Sunday has passed us by, and monday is right around the corner. For two days we have lived in the scene, and now we must jump back into the reality scene of work and real life.  Monday seems to be a hazy day filled with negativity, heartburn and headaches.  We aren't at our best. We can't be at our best because of the way that we feel. However we do have some hope; Monday Night Football baby. The Browns and Buccaneers are playing, and the Browns happen to be our favorite team.We tell ourselves that we are only going to have a few beers, but we end up having eight.  We laugh, cheer, eat, drink, smoke a few more darts along with some weed, and then are on our way home.Tuesday morning now rolls around; we don't feel quite as bad, but our chemistry seems to be off, leaving us to feel non motivated, lethargic and even negative in our approach to the day. Everything is bothering us, and all we can think about is taking the edge off somehow someway. We cant stop thinking about when the next scene is - "and there it is, Thursday night football, the 49ers and the Vikings play, and we love 49ers." We get through Wednesday and then Thursday ends up being the same night that Monday was - laughing, cheering, eating, drinking, smoking, and then on our way home. Now it's Friday, we've made it through the long hard work week; it's time to relax. Our buddy is having people up to his house again, we can't wait. We can't wait to have some laughs, drinks, smokes, more drinks, more smokes, more weed.Saturday floats by since we slept most of the day. When we weren't sleeping we were laying around doing nothing.  We've gotta get refreshed for Saturday night right?- and then the cycle repeats itself. To be continued......-Hawk
