The Scene Continued
The Scene Continued
“The scene” is a lifestyle that is viewed by many as an okay and fun lifestyle, and it might just be for a time. The college year’s right? That old mentality that we’ve got to live our early twenties to the fullest; we’ve go to try it all don’t we?The problem with this mentality, and chosen lifestyle is that it doesn’t become as simple to quit as we might think. It doesn’t become something we can just turn off; the scene grabs a hold of us, making it hard for us to part ways. For years we have built this relationship with “the scene” and have come to love her in many ways. We love the laughter; the escape; the girls; the excessive drinking; the overall loss of inhibition and control; we have come to love all of these things; but at the same time we have come to hate these things as well. We have now developed a love hate relationship with the scene. We have now started to get into a little bit of trouble because of the scene. We have just gotten our second DUI, but this time with possession of Marijuana. We start feeling remorse towards the scene because she hasn’t been good to us as of lately; she’s let us down.We tell ourselves that we are going to quit the scene for good, but it’s just not quite that easy; our relationship with her is strong. We do pretty well for a time, but she then comes’ calling; she uses a holiday to try and get us back. New Years is right around the corner and our buddy is having a party; and there is no way we are missing that party right? – It’s New Years, everyone parties on New Years; it’s ok to let loose, we’ve been doing good. So we ring in the New Year with a bang; the Scene was great to us. She gave us everything we wanted and more. We partied; we smoked; we drank; we laughed; we smoked some more; and most importantly, we tried something new; we did our first line of coke, and we liked it; in fact, we loved it.Now that we’ve tried something new that we like, the remembrance becomes a powerful force in our mind. The weekend after New Years rolls around and we are ready to party again. We are getting lazy in our approach, and have forgotten the trouble the Scene has caused us in the past. Now we are doing Coke on the weekends pretty consistently, along with the alcohol and the rest of the party scene. This has become a consistent routine in our life for a few months now and it’s really causing us to feel depressed and low during the days that follow. We can’t seem to find happiness at all; and for some reason anxiety has now started to creep into our life. We start asking around, and we hear about a pain killer called Roxicontin that is supposed to make all of our feelings of stress and anxiety dissipate; and actually make us feel happy, calm, and even content. To be continued…..-HawkClick Here for the: GYM Experience Click Here for part 1 of: The Scene
