Staying Home
Staying Home
Dustin Hawkins
The father who stays home on a Friday night, spending time with his family while remaining in reality, has a far different experience than the father who went out on Friday night, where he took himself out of reality through the scene, only then coming home into the wee hours of the night after his family is all in bed. The next morning for this individual proves to be a challenging task when the kids wake up early and want to play. Now due to the lack of sleep, and possibly feeling sick, this father isn't able to be his best self. Weekend after weekend, or even night after night this could be the case, where slowly this father isn't his best around his family because he can't be, since he is controlled by the world. Now his family just thinks that this is just now him - and his personality, but little do they know that a greater man lies behind the now worldly man.The man who comes home night after night his best self because he is his clear self proves to be an effective leader within his home. This man stays home on Friday and Saturday nights, where he leads his family towards dinner, prayer, and family movie night. At the close of the night he tells his kids stories, and tucks them in tightly, then thanking God in his own personal prayer for the mighty blessings that him and his family have received. Then this man spends time with his wife, where they chit chat, and become even closer friends. When the morning arrives, and the kids are awake, this man hops out of bed with a quickness and is ready to play with the kids and make them breakfast. All morning this man chases the kids around the house, playing with them, laughing with them, wrestling with them, and most importantly getting to know them, and even teaching them. This man is laying the foundation for his family, and if he was still taking himself out of reality, no such foundation would ever get laid, and the complete scene within his family wouldn't be the powerful scene it is today.
