WAR Concept: Beat an Opiate Craving #2
Beat an Opiate Craving #2I can't stress the importance of having a spiritual foundation when it comes to beating an Opiate craving. When we have allowed the Opiate thought to travel to far, and we are in the middle of a craving for Opiate, then we must search for something else to look forward to that can get us high. The reason for the craving in the first place was probably due to being bored, stressed, depressed, or just for the reason of not having anything to look forward to. The spiritual high can give us something to look forward to because the spiritual promotes a charitable peaceful character that everyone will like, including us. And since we have been living a spiritual lifestyle, where we have been creating positive memories over the past months through the tying in of our spiritual work with exercise and nature, then such memories can help us to have something to look forward to. So now when Opiate tries to lead our thinking towards looking forward to what He can offer, we can now offset his craving with the looking forward to what the spiritual can offer, which are: a peaceful charitable character; exercise in nature while getting lost in meditative thought and prayer; reading and studying in beautiful locations about Christ, and the peace that such study can lead you to having; the overall progression in our character with the idea in mind that God will bless us as we continue to make good choices with not only our addiction, but in all of life. We have to be able to look forward to something that is just as powerful as the Opiate thought. We look forward to the temporary pleasure that Opiate can offer us, so we can also look forward to what the clear spiritual way of life can offer us as well. What about looking forward to doing something with your life? What about looking forward to working on a business idea? What about trying to point your addiction in the way of finding success, stability, and even wealth? Those of us that struggle with addiction can be great in this life if we would just point our addictive mind in the right direction. We need to have a vision of who we want to become in this life, and then we need to chip away at becoming that person. Now when we are in the midst of a craving we can look forward to working on ourselves so that we can become that person we have always wanted to become. Now, and with this new angle of perspective, we will come to find our way around the Opiate craving because we will have something to look forward to, which will be the investment in our own self. When the Opiate thought pops in, it can be out shined by us working on our entrepreneurial self. Our addictive mind can give us creative ideas of ways that we can be passionate about something; ideas of how we can create something out of nothing, so now we focus all of our addiction energy into a positive direction, which then allows for our addiction to work for us instead of against us. We who struggle with addiction need to find something that we are passionate about, for if we do then we will be passionate about making our way past the Opiate lifestyle for the duration since we will have found something that is more powerful than Opiate, therefore, it will replace Opiate. Picture this: Now we are addicted to reading and educating ourselves so that we can keep growing. The person who comes to love reading has an advantage on those who choose not to read, and we have come to realize this truth, which keeps us further motivated to do the things that most aren't willing to do. We now realize that most of the people in this world are lazy, and that all we have to do to find success and true happiness in this life is to work hard on developing an honest God fearing character, and one who works harder than most since being a hard worker is one of the gifts that came to us when we finally learned how to point our addiction in the right direction. We have also learned how to work with God, and we have come to see that blessings will happen in our lives if we will continue to choose the right path, which seems to be the WAR path. The thought to escape through Opiate still travels into our mind but we keep him on the surface of our thinking, never allowing him to burrow to deeply. Our physical self is in tune, as is our nutritional and spiritual. The Opiate craving is no match for such a powerful harmonization because through this harmonization we can see our best self developing. The glow of our soul is greater than it's ever been, and all who come in contact with us recognize this unique light, which motivates us even more to put off the Opiate whisper, and to listen for the spiritual whisper. Louder and louder the spiritual whisper grows, and softer and softer the Opiate whisper becomes, until we have become healed by the spiritual and are now innocent as we were when we were children. I don't want to get back into a relationship with Opiate because I don't want him to slow me down, hindering my progress from being who I want to become. The thought of Opiates lift still sounds great in my mind, and I still experience His cravings often, however, I can see my way around those cravings most of the time because I don't want Opiate to slow me down, so I put my energy into the WAR lifestyle because of how progressive the lifestyle is. I know that if I strive to live this WAR lifestyle to the fullest then I will become who I have always wanted to become, and to me that's way more motivating than anything Opiate can throw at me.
