The more tranquil a man becomes, the greater is his success, his influence, his power for good.” - James Allen, As a Man Thinkethby Bub Hatch, WAR Life Coach
I believe it is important for each of us to realize that even though our addictions have brought us hardship, distress, pain, financial burden and perhaps even legal repercussions it has been a profound journey of self discovery.  Through such circumstances we have tasted the bitter times of life, and also felt its all too fleeting highs; and it is through such that we are now forged into what we, and who we are today; physically, spiritually and mentally.  And this is where you must look inside, questioning yourself; ‘is this who I want to be? Is this the person who I wanted to become?’ If you ever find that the answer is no, then that is the moment for action.  Now is the only time that we have to face our fears and have the courage to truly become who we want to be. There is always room for growth, we must be ready to embrace change and find comfort in being uncomfortable, each day working to make weakness into strength.  Through this voyage of growth, and development we truly learn how to govern ourselves; how to face up to our demons, weaknesses and our enemies and walk away unscathed.  We also grow closer to the tranquility that echoes the reassurance and the happiness of a life well lived.  This journey of growth does not go unnoticed, others around us will see our struggle, and though they may never understand from what dark depths we struggled to redeem ourselves, they will know and recognize that we have come far,  and that it has been a well fought battle.  They will stand in awe of what we have accomplished, they will seek to know from where we have found such strength.  It then becomes our opportunity to share our newly acquired tranquility with others, extending our gift, using our own experience to enlighten and influence others.  Each day we are all working our way down this path, and honestly, this is a path that never ends.  There is no end in striving to become a better person, a stronger person than we were yesterday.  Addiction is the disease that will never go away, it will always haunt us, finding ways to interject into our lives at the most unforeseeable times.  But addiction is something that we can conquer, moving ourselves closer in the pursuit of becoming the person which we know we can be. You are strong enough to change, but are you ready to change?  Have faith.  You are stronger than you could ever imagine! You can do it, and today is the day you will start.Assignment: write about this concept, and then discuss this concept - and then email it to me: bubhatch@me.com, or post to comments..
